HIGHLIGHTS | Southampton 1-1 Man City | Aymeric Laporte goal | Premier League

Aymeric Laporte’s second half header earned City a share the spoils at Southampton in what was a pulsating Premier League encounter at the St Mary’s Stadium.

The hosts had taken an early lead through Kyle Walker-Peters’ seventh minute shot.

Pep Guardiola’s side though responded in kind with Laporte deservedly heading home from Kevin De Bruyne’s pinpoint free-kick midway through the second half.

City came close to forcing a winner but had to settle for a point as our 12 match Premier League winning run was finally checked.

It was still a landmark occasion though with the draw seeing Guardiola record his 500th point as City boss - achieving the feat in the quickest time in league history - and saw us stretch our lead at the top of the table to 12 points.

Kevin De Bruyne’s moment of magic ensured Manchester City beat Chelsea to strengthen our position at the top of the Premier League.

The Belgian curled a stunning effort into the bottom right corner from 25-yards in the 70th minute to send City 13 points clear of the second-placed Blues with our 12 consecutive league victory.

It sealed a deserved win for Pep Guardiola’s men, who controlled a tight contest from the first minute and might have won by more but for a brilliant save from Kepa Arrizabalaga to deny Jack Grealish in the first half.

Romelu Lukaku forced a superb save from Ederson with the scores goalless, but the Belgian striker cut an isolated figure for much of the afternoon as Chelsea set up to contain and rarely troubled the hosts on the counter-attack.

Thomas Tuchel’s men stoic defended frustrated the defending champions for long periods, but their efforts were undone by De Bruyne’s brilliance as he rode N’Golo Kante’s tackled before arcing a sumptuous strike beyond Kepa to provide a significant boost to our Premier League title aspirations.

But Aymeric Laporte's emphatic header made it 5-3, before Sterling scored his second late on to seal the victory.

Bernardo scores a worldie! | Watford 1-3 Man City Highlights | Silva, Sterling, Hernandez Goals

City climbed to the top of the Premier League for the first time this season after beating Watford 3-1 at Vicarage Road.

It was yet another scintillating performance on the road as City also set a new Club record in the process.

Goals from Raheem Sterling and Bernardo gave the champions a two-goal advantage at the break, though it perhaps could and should have been many more.

It was a similar story after the re-start, with Bernardo scoring a sumptuous third to seal victory just past the hour. Phil Foden and Jack Grealish hit the woodwork before Chucho Hernandez pulled one back on 74 minutes.

Stunning first half goals from Ruben Dias and Bernardo were enough to earn depleted City a crucial 2-1 Premier League win at Aston Villa. Despite being shorn of several key players through injury, illness and suspension, Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions produced a sumptuous opening 45 minutes at Villa Park capped off by quite superb goals from Portuguese duo Dias and Silva.
